Rick Greenberg

Gunnery Sergeant Rick Greenberg, (Ret.) was born on the south side of Chicago. Following his time in the Viet Nam War written about in his best-selling and award-winning novel Silent Heroes, A Recon Marine’s Vietnam War Experience, he was again called to serve in 1990 for Desert Shield and Desert Storm. These experiences are told in his novel Desert Burning.

He continued to serve his beloved Corps until his retirement in October,1993, following a tragic accident that took his wife’s life, and had Gunny Greenberg lying in a coma for thirty days.

Gunny presently lives in a retirement community in Central Florida, with his second wife, Kim, where he spends his time writing and playing the piano. These later years have been spent writing his books. He also wrote Faith in a Box about his experience and recovery after lying 30-days in a coma.
